Commercial solar projects are significant investments. Scoping is the structured work we do before you commit to anything. The scope depends on your project but will often include modelling your site against your actual consumption, looking at what the project would cost to build, and telling you whether the numbers stack up. If they don't, you've avoided a making a poor investment.

What scoping covers

The objectives and scope of the engagement depends on your objectives and the solution you wish to understand. You end up with a clear picture of your site, your economics, and whether a solar or battery project makes sense for your situation.

A solution, specific to your site.

We will listen to what you want to achieve and develop a technical solution concept that addresses your objectives. We assess the specific constraints of your site and situation and ensure the solution will work for you.

Your economics, modelled on real data.

We use your consumption data, your local electricity tariffs, and site weather data to model the payback period and IRR. Not industry averages — your numbers will inform your decision.

A clear go or no-go recommendation.

We tell you whether the project stacks up, and why. If it does, we explain the best path forward. If it doesn't, we tell you what would need to change for it to make sense in the future.

You've been thinking about solar or battery for a while. You have a site in mind, but you don't know the right system size, the real return, or whether now is the time. Scoping gives you those answers before you commit to anything.

You need to justify This to a board or finance team.

Scoping gives you an independent, documented assessment you can put in a board paper. IRR, NPV, payback period, and a clear recommendation from an adviser with no equipment to sell. That's a defensible starting point.

Your project needs independent energy expertise.

You're an architect, geotech firm, or property consultant, and your client is asking about solar or battery. We're not installers, and we're not competitors. We work alongside your team and give the project an independent energy layer.

How scoping works

Our work starts with a conversation to understand your situation, and objectives. We will work with you to gather the information we need. Most of the work at this stage is modelling. Some of it is conversation. All of it is independent. Scoping starts from $5,000 + GST. If it isn't the right next step for your project, we'll say so before we start. The first conversation tells us both.
