Independent energy experts

We've been working on New Zealand's energy future for over a decade. We provide businesses with independent advice to help guide their energy decisions, because we believe cleaner, cheaper energy can change what's possible for businesses and communities.

That's what drives us.

Dedicated to Aotearoa’s renewable evolution

Shay Brazier started Revolve to lead Aotearoa's transition to renewable energy.  We have the potential to become a world leader in electrifying our economy. While our grid has one of the highest levels of renewable generation internationally, only 30% of our total energy use is renewable. We are still heavily dependent on imported fossil fuels, and are exposed geopolitical instability, and we're not doing much to reduce our carbon emissions.

Solar is the cheapest form of electricity, and batteries are rapidly decreasing in cost. Revolve is dedicated to identifying the new technical solutions and business models that allow the cost-effective deployment of renewable energy to help our businesses and communities thrive.

/ Our Model

Why we don't sell or install

Revolve offers independent advice that businesses and communities can trust. We do not make our money selling solar equipment or installing systems. When we recommend a system, our focus is on getting it right for your site.

That independence changes everything. When we size a system, we optimise for your return, not the sale price. If we reach a point where it's clear that the investment doesn't make sense, we'll let you know. We help our clients make decisions based on what works for their situation - not ours.

High expertise, low ego

The three principles that shape every project and every conversation.

We share what we know

We are open and collaborative, and share our knowledge to achieve the best outcome. You’ll have a clear view of your project at every stage. We explain what matters - without the jargon - and focus on the details that support informed decision making. If something is important, we’ll share it, and if the project doesn't stack up, we'll say so.

We challenge assumptions

We are innovators, seeking continuous improvement for our clients - and we're not constrained by the way things have been done. Our role is to test your brief - not just deliver it, working collaboratively with you to find the best approach.

We're here for the long run

Many of our clients have worked with us for multiple years across numerous projects. We stay involved beyond the initial delivery - supporting the system performance and helping solar and battery solutions realise the intended benefits in the long term.

/ The Team

The people behind the work.

Specialists with depth across solar and battery, controls, sustainability, and community energy.

Shay Brazier

Founder & Director

Renewables and controls engineer with +20 experience across NZ, the Pacific, and the UK. Shay started Revolve to help lead Aotearoa's Energy transition, providing robust, innovative and imparial expertise.

Jo Woods

Director of Sustainability

Covers energy strategy, accreditation, thermal comfort, and life cycle assessment. Jo makes sure sustainability outcomes are designed into projects from the start, not added on at the end.

Rajnit Reddy

Renewables engineer

Renewable energy engineer (UNSW) with 8+ years experience designing solar and battery systems from residential to multi-MW scale. Rajnit optimises for each site rather than defaulting to a standard solution.

Josh Yeats

Community Energy

Community energy specialist who manages energy solutions within his own community. Josh builds the models that make shared solar and battery viable for developers, councils, and housing providers.

Petr Štěpán

Renewables and Controls Engineer

Renewables, electrical, and communications engineer with building automation experience across Europe and NZ. Petr knows how systems actually perform in the field, not just how they look in a proposal.

Matthew Grant

RENEWABLES ENGINEER

Electronics and electrical engineer focused on solar feasibility modelling with PVsyst and Homer. Matthew is also Revolve's drone pilot, running aerial surveys so clients can see exactly what's happening on their rooftops.

Maria Garcia

aRCHITECT

Sustainable architecture specialist who's worked alongside Shay for over ten years on buildings and technical systems. Maria focuses on where design intent and real-world performance meet.

/ Action

Before the big commitment, understand the opportunity

A solar or battery project is a multi-year decision. Our scoping engagement gives you the clarity to move forward - or the confidence to hold off if it’s not the right time. You'll walk away knowing exactly what's possible, what it costs, and whether it makes financial sense.

/ Our approach

We don't compete.
We collaborate.

When the right specialists work together on an energy project, sparks fly.

We don't try to own the whole project - we bring the solar and battery expertise to the table. We're good listeners, we're easy to work with and committed to what we do.

/ 01

Designed for your site

Every system we specify is engineered around the specific roof, load profile, and goals of that project. We assess your site and your situation and use this information to inform our recommendations. We don't use templates or offer set packages as unlike solar panels, energy advice shouldn't come in a box.

/ 02

Installed and managed end-to-end

We provide technical support to the project from consent and procurement through to construction oversight, commissioning, and long-term performance monitoring. One relationship, from start to finish. Or, we can step in for specific phases, including feasibility, design, procurement support, delivery oversight, or performance optimisation once the system is live.

/ 03

Returns start immediately

Most clients see reductions in their energy costs from the first full billing cycle. What happens in year one matters as much as year ten. We work with you to make sure those returns continue for the life of the project.
