Re/volve Energy collaborated with a diverse multi disciplinary team to develop Te Kopua, our vision of a Zero Carbon urban mixed use development for The Alderman Carpark in Henderson.
The concept demonstrates an environmentally, socially resilient and sustainable community, designed in partnership with local iwi, with inter-generational outcomes that increase the health, well-being and housing opportunities for people connected to the area.
Through the design features including:
efficient building form & thermal envelope
a micro-grid incorporating onsite PV generation and energy storage distributing energy
efficient centralised hot water production
low carbon material selections and construction techniques,
the buildings are expected to be zero carbon, realise a total reduction in lifetime carbon emissions of 97% when compared with a standard development in New Zealand of similar scale and density.
